Queer

An umbrella term used to cover all the variations in the LGBTQQIA2S+ alphabet. People who are not cisgender and/or heterosexual could identify with the term Queer. Previously a slur, the community, for the most part, has reclaimed the word from a place of pride. Due to its pejorative past meanings, some people within the community dislike the term. Use this word only when self-identifying or quoting someone who self-identifies as queer.[1],[2]
